I've been working more on the Photoshop collages that I posted about in the Mike Stubbs tutorial entry. I'm developing them further, still looking at the same themes as provoke me in doing my paintings, but expressing it through electronic media. I feel that using computer graphics technology is very contemporary, maybe more accessible to a viewer rooted in today's digital zeitgeist, and possibly more effective in terms of their immediacy. Perhaps its just far easier to provoke disgust in a viewer through the use of photographic media than it is through paint?
Sourcing the right images has always been the collagist's difficulty, and its proving to be mine. Google images has a huge selection of images ready to be used, [so long as substantial change has happened to the image then copyright is no longer an issue], but when you restrict the search to only return large images, the number reduces drastically,
